Default 5100 lbs of fun.......

Okay I've kinna always sat back and crusied around Ratsun and only recently became a little more "active" on here. I was raised on old american steel, old toyotas, and Datsun's. Ever since I was little I wanted a 1964 Cadillac Coupe DeVille and now that I'm a little older (but not really wiser) I've been able to pick one up. I've owned it for about 5 months or so.

I've had a few hangups with this car that have kept me from making forwad progress with her. My main was being laid off for over 150 days.

The first few pictures are how she sat when I first saw her. Thats my buddy Larry painting the roof and as you can see the seats arent exactly "mint".

So anywho I needed a fender so after I bit I tracked one down in Springfield OR so a roadtrip was thrown together and Darren, Kenneth, and I headed south. Thanks to D for letting us crash at your place. Now she has a fender on her.

Now I was in desperate need of parts when I got a text from a good friend of mine Muffin. He saw a 64 Coupe Deville for sale out of tacoma and was worried it was mine. It was not, it was however a PERFECT parts car. So with the help of Darren I was able to swoop p this gem. Thanks Darren.

This one has a siezed up 429 engine and literally a TON of useable parts. Just in chrome (i.e. Front bumper, back bumper, head light bezels, and a few other parts) there is about $1200 in parts. The int is not perfect by any means but it is WAY better then mine so I'll be using that.

So I got this fucking tank back to my buddy Erics house and we started working. Swapped over the fron wheels and tires and the carb off the siezed motor to my good motor. Fixed a fuel leak at the fuel filter and fired it up. She's in dire need of a tune up but shes getting there.

Over the next few weeks I will continue to add pictures as I move forward.

Get ready cause this shits about to get hairy like this guys back!!!!

You should add a sail on top to help get that thing moving.

Aaaaahaha I know right!!! She's got a healthy 429 in her, just needs a good tune up and oil change and she'll be fine. What it really needs though is a brake job like crazy!!!

I need to do the floor pan on the passenger side but it's not to bad yet. This car isnt going to be a full resto or anything. She's gunna be my summer cruise car. Plans are a good sound system and air bags down the line. But first gotta do everything else and get some semi decent paint on her.

The navy has already solved this issue with it's larger vehicles. I believe it's called an arrestor cable.

Nice! My first Cad Hearse was a '64.

There's nothing like a big ol Cad laid flat on the ground. (and there's nothing like rolling down the freeway draggin the body and frame, with 60' of sparks out the back, lol)

Here's my '65 and the 429 in it.

Have fun with your project.

Haha!! I had one of those to!!! The caddy has the olds beat. Olds wheelbase is 123 inches and the caddies is 129.5 inches! The skirts is one of my favorite parts of the car. It's actually getting painted satin black with a bass boat white roof. Bassboat=SPARKLE!!!!!!! Then eventually it will be bagged.

NICE!!! I'd like to have a Hearse at some point. I almost bought a 1958 ambulance out of springfield OR.

Between two buddies we have turtle eating compatitions when we go out. It's pretty funny till you get pulled over and find out that turtles are $500.00 a PIECE!!!!!

I like your current Hearse alot though, I could DEFF see myself driving that.

Yep, back in the 80's in Cali, we used to eat a lot of turtles,. (the fines can get pretty high)
Unfortunately, we don't have them here, because of the snow plows, so we have to go over to the Seattle area to nail them.

look what I found for sale! 1960 flat top for 600... Lots of rust and apparently just missing a radiator to be complete.

Hahaha, this car is close to me in Church Hill, TN. It's only $600!! Been sitting for 27 years, has 2 speed hydromatic and 390. It's definitely a crusty, rusty ride!
