Looks like someone might have "borrowed" it for some parts and then dumped it. Everyone knows that fire is the best way to remove trace that might come back and bite you.

theives just dumped and burned a interpid on my street 2 doors down. there is a streak of oil coming from way down the road, so i guess they left it where it died

I 2nd melted actually, I have seen a lot of fire cars and what not doing insurance work. Aluminum melts like butter in a car fire.

Aluminum is actually I fuel, once it starts to burn, it's all down hill.
The flash powder I used for this is alum based.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense, actually. If you guys click the link I got a bunch more pictures of it, and you can see that most of the engine is melted away as well.

And my god, look at the tire stretch on the rear! VW guys would LOVE that thing, the tires aren't even CLOSE to the edge of the wheel.

There needs to be a TV show now... like junkyard wars, only 'burned car' wars. A build-off of cars that've been burned to a crisp, and the teams need to build a race car out of the scorched husk of a car.

... I'd watch it.
