well, here is the deal, like i said in my last post, the rear suspension on this wagon just wont do for more than a few hundred horsepower. the leaf springs are so soft, even with traction bars, you would have insane wheel hop, so if you do want to go with a high horsepower motor, you will need to completely re-do the rear suspension.

you would want to go with coil springs and prolly a ladder bar or other type of dragster rear suspension. it would handle like ass on the street, but it would put that power to the ground without breaking, or tearing stuff up from massive wheel hop.

and on the subject of the rear end, its very hard to find a LSD for a hl190, and even if you do, they werent designed for such high horsepower applications. you would be FAR better off to take that 1800 bucks and have a ford 9" posi shortened and stuffed under.

if you want a mildly built SR,CA, or KA motor, and are planning on even 250-300hp, you could get away with stock rear suspension, and a LSD 190...you would need some wide tires and a set of traction bars, but it should work fine. but, if you are talking over 300hp, i think the 190 would be a bad choice. also, when the 190 breaks, they are expensive and hard to find parts for...9" rears are a dime a dozen.

back onto engines, you wont make even 300hp with a carb'd KA motor. they have about 150hp stock, and the VG engine isnt much more than that. if you strip a KA motor down, build it and boost the hell out of it, it can make the same numbers as a SR or CA series motor. but thats with fuel injection and alot of boost.

any motor other than a L series is going to take alot of time and a fair amount of fabrication to swap in. if your goals arent high, you can pop a l20b in there, and built they can make 150hp. if you want more HP and torque, the swaps get tougher. the VG series isnt bad, but it doesnt just bolt right in. hell, my naps motor was a pain in the ass, and took a couple months to finish with me working on it every night for 6 hours. if you have done the swaps before, it takes less time. but, i had to basically rewire my car from scratch, and this was the first import engine i had ever swapped.

if you want more than 300hp, you might as well forget about anything carburated, and just go with fuel injection. it will be easier and much more street drivable. the CA, SR, and KA engines are all just fine. myself, if i was after big numbers for the lowest price, i would pick up a jap imported CA18DET front clip(comes with everything including a 5spd trans, only thing missing is the intercooler and charge piping), build my intercooler and charge pipe, get a higher volume fuel pump, crank the boost up a few PSI, and be happy with a nice reliable 200hp. course, 200hp is all i would want out of my wagon...600 is alot harder to get...no matter what engine series you go with, you will be spending thousands of dollars on just the internals and getting everything balanced. at that point its all about what is easier to get parts for. good luck getting SR parts in the states...however, CA series engines are in several nissan cars we have here, and KA series are a dime a dozen.

napz is like 8 wires to wire up the fuel injection why did it take you so long ?
